Bankruptcy Legal Assistant
The firm is seeking a Bankruptcy Legal Assistant to support attorneys with a wide range of bankruptcy-related administrative and legal tasks in a fast-paced law firm environment. Responsibilities include drafting, processing, and electronically filing bankruptcy documents with federal and state bankruptcy courts, preparing Proofs of Claim, gathering information from creditors, debtors, trustees, and court personnel, and maintaining case files and electronic records. The role also involves proofreading legal documents, preparing materials for hearings and meetings, coordinating attorney calendars and travel arrangements, handling client and court communications, and assisting with billing coordination and other administrative support duties.
Qualified candidates should have at least 2 years of experience working directly in a bankruptcy practice area within a law firm environment. Experience with the U.S. Federal Bankruptcy Courts Electronic Case Filing (ECF) system is required, along with knowledge of bankruptcy terminology, procedures, and court processes. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and legal software platforms such as PACER, Relativity, Concordance, Westlaw, and Lexis/Nexis. Strong organizational, communication, proofreading, and multitasking skills are essential, and typing proficiency of at least 75 words per minute is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while additional education is preferred.
This position follows a hybrid schedule with limited remote flexibility and is based in the Los Angeles office. Overtime may be required as needed. The expected salary range for this role is $85,000–$105,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications, and includes bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package.
