The Compliance Attorney will serve as a senior member of the Risk Management Department at a Nashville-based law firm, supporting ethical issues and providing expertise on conflicts of interest, ethics, and anti-money laundering. Responsibilities include reviewing, drafting, and negotiating engagement terms, waiver letters, and contracts, particularly in relation to client onboarding, matters, and hires. The role involves managing firm-wide contracts and IT-related master service agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and collaborating with key stakeholders to uphold firm policies. The attorney will also assist in guiding the Conflict and New Business Department.

Candidates should possess a Juris Doctorate, an active law license in good standing in at least one state, and five to seven years of legal experience, preferably in a law firm or corporate setting. Strong knowledge of the Model Rules of Professional Conduct and jurisdiction-specific ethics rules is essential. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work under tight deadlines, and strong organizational and customer service skills are required. Additionally, the candidate must understand the importance of confidentiality and be capable of imparting that understanding across the organization
