Lateral Conflicts Analyst

The Lateral Conflicts Analyst is responsible for conducting initial conflict of interest assessments related to lateral attorneys, support staff, and new clients. This role involves partnering with Legal Recruiting and Human Resources to gather accurate conflict data, performing detailed triage reviews of candidates, generating conflict reports through internal and external databases, and analyzing results to summarize findings. The analyst researches client histories and relevant matters to identify and evaluate potential legal, ethical, and business risks. Collaboration with Intake Attorneys, Division Heads, and the Firm’s Ethics Partner is essential to escalate and resolve conflict issues efficiently, facilitating timely onboarding of lateral hires.

The position requires clear communication of conflict status to stakeholders and coordination of conflict resolution strategies, including waivers and ethical screens. In addition, the role involves maintaining accurate records, supporting firm-wide policy communication, and guiding attorneys on intake procedures. The role demands a minimum of three years’ law firm conflicts experience, familiarity with conflict rules, legal research tools, and conflict management software such as Intapp. Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the flexibility to work overtime and participate in after-hours rotations.

Salary ranges vary by location, with Boston/DC offering $85,000–$105,000 and New York offering $95,000–$110,000
