The firm is seeking a Patent Agent with at least one year of patent prosecution experience to join its San Diego office. This role focuses on supporting clients in protecting innovative technologies through the preparation, prosecution, and strategic management of patent applications. The Patent Agent will review invention disclosure documents, participate in invention disclosure meetings, and conduct prior art searches to evaluate patentability. Responsibilities also include drafting patent applications, reviewing USPTO office actions, developing response strategies, conducting examiner interviews, and preparing and filing responses. The role involves managing both U.S. and international patent dockets and analyzing patents in connection with due diligence and freedom-to-operate analyses.

Qualified candidates must be admitted to practice before the USPTO and possess a technical background in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or chemical engineering. Experience working with technologies such as hardware and devices, software, database technology, artificial intelligence, wireless systems, or image and signal processing is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a high level of attention to detail while managing multiple priorities. Prior law firm experience is strongly preferred. The firm values collaboration and requires employees to work from the office approximately 60% of the time.

The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $200,000, and the role is eligible for a performance-based bonus.
